What a wonderful year this has been. It has been an honor and pleasure to serve you!

The men and women who actively participate in this wonderful organization are some of the finest people I've ever met. I thank everyone in the American Legion Family. It has been a humbling and exhilarating experience. We have notched some achievements over the past 12 months. One that I am particularly proud of is The American Legion Family has become closer by working together and we have achieved a lot this past year.

When I took office last June, I promised an increase in membership. Every year we go to convention where we are in 55th place (in other words in back of the bus). Because of our efforts as a family, we increased membership by 38% and now stand as #17 in the nation and we will be closer to the stage at Convention. We still have a lot more work to do!

The Department Officers were able to attend spring meetings and it was a wonderful to share the feelings of friendliness and goodwill with the Legion Family. This has been an incredible year for me as your Commander. Thank you all who have helped make this year a success! Our efforts truly made a difference in the lives of veterans and their families. Good luck in the future as we attain even greater heights.

Robert B. Rodriguez
Department Commander 2021-2022
